A Good Place for Kids (and Adults, too)

There’s lots of stuff for kids to do at Minnehaha United Methodist Church. Here's what's happening on Sunday mornings:

Bring your kid(s) into 9:30 a.m. worship. (We’re serious!)
We love it when you bring kids into the church service. Really. On Sunday mornings, we leave our scowls and frowns at home. (Except for Brad.)

Worship Lasts About An Hour
The church service lasts about an hour. It’s not exactly made for kids, but there’s music, paper and crayons, and lots of opportunities to stand up and sit down. Plus, early in the service there’s a Children’s Message where everyone can learn about the day’s lesson in a fun way.

Coffee, Lemonade and Cookies
When the service is over at around 10:30 a.m., there’s cookies and lemonade and coffee and new people to meet. And sometimes doughnuts. You don’t want to miss that.

Sunday School Starts at 10:45 a.m.
Sunday School starts at 10:45 a.m. Preschool, K/1st Grades, 2nd/3rd Grades, 4th/5th Grades, Middle School, High School and Adults all meet in separate classrooms upstairs. While that’s going on, you can stay downstairs and relax and visit and drink coffee. Sunday school is pretty much done at 11:30 a.m.

Plus, there's even more fun FAMILY things:

Wednesday Night Dinners
There’s Wednesday Night dinners at 5:30 p.m. on most Wednesdays. And outdoor picnics on Wednesdays during the summer.

Minnehaha Playgroup on Thursday Mornings
If you or your caregiver is looking for a break during the week, Minnehaha Playgroup – for children five and under – meets at the church every Thursday from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Kids and their caregivers gather on the second floor to play, talk, explore, support and learn together.

All-Church Christmas Pageant
At our All-church Christmas Pageant in December, kids dress up as animals, shepherds, magi and angels. Plus there’s singing, handbells and puppets. And a happy ending, of course. (Okay, Herod’s not all that happy but that’s just him.) Hallelujah!

Summer Camps, VBS, Mission Trips, etc., etc.
During the summer there’s camps, vacation bible school, mission trips, and more. And the church service is outside (weather permitting) on Sundays at 10:00 a.m.
