UNITED WOMEN OF FAITH AT MINNEHAHA UMC
We are women of Minnehaha United Methodist Church – including those who identify as women and non-binary individuals – who join together to help lift up people in our community, in our country and throughout the world. We seek to connect people so that we can all inspire, influence and positively impact local and global communities.
Our Vision
We are a powerful, fearless force driven by God's love and united in fellowship. We act for justice and transform communities, with a particular focus on women, children and those experiencing homelessness and food insecurity.
We face the realities we see in the world, even when they are not the ones we would like to see. However, our goal is not to bear witness simply to harms, but also to God's love by acting boldly to change those harms.
We Make the World Better!
We Support Simpson Shelter
• We prepare a delicious hot dinner once a month and serve it at Simpson Shelter, helping our south Minneapolis neighbors who are experiencing homelessness.
We Foster Community
• We host the annual Holiday Bazaar, including local craft vendors, breakfast and lunch, Indigeneous-grown wild rice and a bake sale. You won't want to miss our famous homemade chicken-noodle hot dish and rice pudding!
• We produce an intergenerational musical every winter. Fun for the entire family!
We Reduce and Recycle
• We hold an all-church rummage sale every year. One person's trash is another person's treasure.
We Have Fun
• We enjoy Women's Nights Out at neighborhood restaurants, promoting fellowship and supporting local businesses.
We Support Our Neighbors and Communities Worldwide
Our fundraising efforts support local organizations like Simpson Shelter and international groups like the United Methodist Committee On Relief (UMCOR) and everything in between.
